Llanidloes:
The ancient market town of Llanidloes dates back from the 12th century. There are still buildings from the 17th Century including the Market Hall - the only one of its kind in Wales. The town has retained its relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to for a leisurely days shopping. For the more energetic there is a Leisure Centre with a pool and a full programme of activities.

Lake Clywedog:
The most popular attraction in the area is Clywedog Lake. Only five minutes from the park, the lake covers an amazing 615 acres and has the tallest dam in Britain. The Lake offers sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing and is also perfect for walking or just relaxing with a picnic.

There are miles of wonderfully scenic paths amongst the surrounding hills and forests that will satisfy the casual stroller or the most ardent walker.

Source of the Severn / Wye:
Just a few miles down the road from Clywedog Riverside Holiday Home is the starting point for a range of walks, the shortest of which is suitable for a wheel chair and takes you along the cascades. Other walks from the same starting point range from half an hour such as the breaks it's neck walk, to a full walk such as the Source of the Severn (14 Miles in total - 7 one way) and is listed as a knee breaker of a walk.
