Llanidloes:
The ancient market town of
Llanidloes dates back from
the 12th century. There are still buildings from
the 17th Century including the Market Hall - the only
one of its kind in Wales. The town has retained
its relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to for
a leisurely days shopping. For the more
energetic there is a Leisure Centre with a pool and a
full programme of activities. Lake
Clywedog: The most popular attraction in the
area is Clywedog Lake. Only five minutes from
the park, the lake covers an amazing 615 acres
and has the tallest dam in Britain. The Lake
offers sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing and
is also perfect for walking or just relaxing with a
picnic. Walking:
There are miles of wonderfully scenic paths amongst
the surrounding hills and forests that will satisfy
the casual stroller or the most ardent walker. Golf:
There is a nine hole golf course just five minutes
drive away with very reasonable membership rates for
visitors. Fishing:
As well as trout fishing on the lake there are
numerous pools, lakes and rivers within easy reach |
